Wow! I just finished reading Magic Strikes and I am grinning from ear to ear!
When Kate’s werewolf friend Derek is discovered nearly dead, she must confront her greatest challenge yet. As her investigation leads her to the Midnight Games – an invitation only, no holds barred, ultimate preternatural fighting tournament – she and Curran, the Lord of the Beasts, uncover a dark plot that may forever alter the face of Atlanta’s shapeshifting community…
I love LOVE Kate and Curran’s back and forth banter. Every time they were together it made for some awesome reading and I found myself smiling throughout the entire book, well almost. It’s not just Kate and Curran that make this book good either, just about every character in the book is a joy to read.
The plot thickens when Kate begins investigating the near death of a werewolf friend, which means Kate gets involved with the pack a lot more in this book and I found it very exciting. In each book we see Kate grow and learn to trust others, yet stay independent and strong. It’s hard to talk about the plot in this book without giving anything away, or without making it sound like its just “ok”.
The games were very exciting and were a huge highlight of Magic Strikes for me because we get to see what everyone is capable of doing. I loved the additional details we learn about the characters and I can wait to read more in the next one!
Overall Ilona Andrews is such a wonderful writer.. I loved the character and relationship building she does. This world is so damn amazing to read. I found myself not wanting to put Magic Strikes down.
Need to eat? .. Noo.. must… read… more!!
Need to use the facilities? Cant….put…..book..down..
Need to shower? Just…a….few….more…pages..
Ok that last one was an exaggeration but really this series and its characters are a MUST read for any UF fan.
